Murray’s Punch and Judy Ale.

Standard

Can a beer be both light and full of flavour? Generally no, because 1) It’s not cost effective to do so and 2) its not cost effective to do so.

Little Creatures Rogers whilst not the best beer around has always been the nice mid-strength beer.
For those designated driver nights, or maybe you just want to space out your heavy beers with a lighter beer instead of water.( Something I do.)

Well there is now an alternative.

Murray’s Punch and Judy Ale.

It’s hard to believe this beer is just 3.9 percent. It’s a master of disguise in that way, it pours a lovely toffee colour with a light peachy pink off white head, its malty and sticky in all the right places.

Basically its like a 1940’s playboy centerfold, its got curves where it counts, but it tries its best to stay elegant and tasteful.

It has a musky wet dog smell. ( But in a good way!)

Its got a bold taste big on the caramel and toffee notes with a hint of melon I’m musing that it would go well with desert. Though I could certainly abuse how light it is and seriously go to town on a carton of this.

Rating this just as an ale, and its pretty darn good.

However keeping in mind its a mid strength full of as much notes as a Motley Cru guitar riff its actually kind of phenomenal.

8/10

Until next time and remember always drink form a glass.
